With reference to examples explain the differences between a contractual brief and a competition brief?
A competition brief is mainly open ended and allows the recipient to interpret it in its own way. Therefore it is reliant on the recipient, so then overall they aim to produce a product or artefact to their other competitors attempting to achieve the level of having a concept made by the clientele. An example could be as follows;
- A creative idea that understands brief wants.
- A full understanding of the brief
- Being able to be inventive as well as complying with the brief.
A contractual brief is an agreement between two parties. This arrangement which must be completed in order for the contract to be understood if not the product or artefact produced is then rejected and the contract to be voided. An example of a contractual brief could be to the codes and convention of a normal documentary this would then relate to a heavy pre-production documentation any professional businesses.
With reference to a current brief, give an explanation of your roll in a group project you have been working on?

Again for unit 27 factual programming I have been a researcher, a camera women and an interviewee.
What are your duties? What professional qualities do you need to fulfil the brief?
My duty in the role of unit 27 was to be a researcher as well as a camera women as well as being interviewed. Therefore anything I said on camera had to be professional with reasoning behind what I’m saying and relating to the research on the subject. Therefore doing this in a team it bring together team work & building skills as well as leadership coordination skills.
With reference to a specific example, explain your interaction with the client and what changes or further understanding occurred?
Going back again to Unit 27 for factual programming we interacted throughout the task with the client. This meant we had to consistently hold secessions between ourselves and the client to update them on what stage of the process we were at as to work towards our goal any changes made to see that the product produced was best suited to the needs and requirements of the client.
With reference specific examples, explain what new skills you developed during the undertaking of a brief?
I myself worked more on using a camera. Understanding how to handle the pressure of working to a client’s needs. Understanding how to work quickly and efficiently toward deadlines given. To be able to interact and make choices with other team members.
With reference to an example, explain the opportunities and constraints you encountered with a brief and how you responded to them?
The lack of budget which we had meant that many locations and materials needed could not be brought up to the upright best of standards, the time of which the project needed to be handed in meant we have a short period of time whereby we needed to plan film and edit was limited. Overall the way we must go about it must be scheduled in order to make sure the time of which we had for our production was ready by deadline.
